随着经济全球化的发展,我国对外茶叶贸易的规模不断扩大,其中以中美茶叶贸易为主。随着中美茶叶贸易的发展,茶叶英语翻译行业随之产生。茶叶名称翻译是外国消费者了解我国茶叶的第一途径,面对如今中美茶叶贸易茶叶翻译方面的问题,必须采用恰当的翻译技巧。本文首先分析了影响中美茶叶贸易中茶名翻译的文化因素,然后讨论了目前茶叶名称翻译的问题,最后在之前的问题基础上有针对性地提出了翻译策略,包括直译法、意译法等。希望能够借此减轻茶名翻译的不准确甚至是失误,从而促进中美茶叶贸易的发展和茶文化的交流。With the development of economic globalization, the scale of China’s foreign tea trade has been expanding, with the Sino-American tea trade being the main focus. With the development of the Sino-American tea trade, the tea English translation industry has emerged. Tea name translation is the first way for foreign consumers to understand China’s tea, and in the face of today’s problems in tea translation for the Sino-American tea trade, proper translation skills must be used. This paper first analyzes the cultural factors affecting the translation of tea names in the Sino-American tea trade, then discusses the current problems of tea name translation, and finally puts forward translation strategies based on the previous problems in a targeted manner, including literal translation, free translation, etc. In order to alleviate the inaccuracies or even mistakes in tea name translation, the development of the Sino-American tea trade and the exchange of tea culture should be promoted.
