摘要： “灵韵”曾被视为“不可传达”,作为记录和传输身体的元媒介,元宇宙技术为游戏玩家提供巨大的沉浸感和互动性,进而也为改变“灵韵”的传达提供了新的可能。《黑神话:悟空》的成功得益于发达国家研发的虚幻引擎技术和显卡算力、中国制作团队的长期主义和巨量资源投入以及以《西游记》为代表的精妙绝伦、充满想象力的中国神话美学和文化传统。这三者合一使得中华文化中的“灵韵”(物质性、空间性、身体性和叙事性)在数字时代被忠实地记录和广泛地传播,进而打破了本雅明所言的“机器复制”和“灵韵保存”之间的矛盾。

摘要： Making successful use of cloud computing requires nuanced approaches to both system design and deployment methodology, involving reasoning about the elasticity, cost, and security models of cloud services. Building cloud-native applications without a firm understanding of the fundamentals of cloud engineering can leave students susceptible to cost and security pitfalls. Yet, cloud computing is not commonly taught at the undergraduate level. To address this gap, we designed an undergraduate-level course that frames cloud infrastructure deployment as a software engineering practice. Our course featured a number of hands-on assignments that gave students experience with modern, best-practice concepts and tools including infrastructure-as-code (IaC). We describe the design of the course, our experience teaching its initial offering, and provide our reflections on what worked well and potential areas for improvement. 摘要： The problem of gender disparity in computer science and engineering has persisted despite longstanding efforts made in higher education. This study drew data from ten female computer science and engineering faculty in China and Italy to demonstrate the gender-specific challenges they face. The researcher applied positioning theory to analyse female faculty's motherhood experiences. Findings suggest that the dual mother-and-educator role conflict in the intersectional space of work and family can be both a burden and an asset to female faculty. As a burden, the sociocultural expectations of the mother's role drive females to take on primary childcare responsibilities. It leads to significant barriers to female faculty's career advancements. As an asset, the study finds that the female faculty's motherhood experience allowed them to generate new insights into their identities as educators and teaching practices. Their learning from motherhood prompts them to reflect and gain an appreciation of their educator identity. Such realisation enables them to improve their teaching practices and interactions with students. The study offers policy recommendations for higher education institutions to support female faculty navigating the dual roles of mother and educator. Finally, the researcher discusses the limitations and directions for future study.

摘要： Geopolitical conflicts significantly impact financial networks and systems, e.g., Russia and Ukraine. Cryptoeconomic blockchains such as Bitcoin and Ethereum were introduced as substitutes for traditional financial systems and might behave differently under significant stress. The Russia-Ukraine conflict allowed us to analyze the impact of such complex geopolitical conflicts on the user behaviors of cryptoeconomic blockchains. This article investigates the early stage of such geopolitical conflict using time-varying graphs. We collected and analyzed all the transactions for Bitcoin and Ethereum that took place 2 weeks before and after the conflict started, i.e., we focused on what can be defined as the acute impact of such an event. Our results suggest that the early stage of such geopolitical conflicts may significantly affect cryptoeconomic blockchains' user behaviors. For instance, we detected that some users behaved more cautiously during the preconflict phase and resumed normalcy during the postconflict phase but exhibited a shift in their behavior. This article analyzes the relationship between the early stages of geopolitical conflicts and cryptoeconomic systems.

摘要： Objectives. Cancer is an enormous public health burden among Black and Latinx cancer survivors, and they are at risk of facing barriers to accessing cancer treatment and support in the United States. This study explored the unique challenges and experiences faced by Black and Latinx cancer survivors through the lens of their caregivers, including the specific cultural, social, and systemic factors that influence cancer survivorship experience and quality of life within these communities in the United States. Methods. We used a qualitative descriptive design for the study, and conducted 6 focus group discussions (3 Latinx and 3 Black groups) with a total of 33 caregivers of cancer survivors, (Mean age = 63 years). Data were analyzed using inductive content analysis. Results. We identified 3 main themes: (1) families as (un)stressors in survivorship such as the vitality of social connections and families as unintended burden;(2) responses after diagnosis specifically whether to conceal or accept a diagnosis, and (3) experiencing health care barriers including communication gaps, biased prioritizing of care, and issues of power, trust, and need for stewardship. Significance of results. The findings align with previous research, highlighting the complex interplay between cultural, familial, and healthcare factors in cancer survivorship experiences within underserved communities. The study reiterates the need for culturally tailored emotional, physical, financial, and informational support for survivors and their caregivers. Also, to improve quality of life, the study highlights a need to strengthen mental health and coping strategies, to help address psychological distress and improve resilience among survivors and their caregivers.

摘要： With teachers continuing to report challenges in classroom management and difficulties in implementing scientific inquiry, the current manner in which science practical work is conducted in schools suggests the need for added teacher support. In this regard, we can leverage computer vision to provide instructional support by relieving teachers of the need to carry out mundane observations and perform basic interpretations of student activity. However, to our knowledge, little is known about the noticing practices of teachers during practical work, and the support preferences of such a computer vision system have not been studied before. To this end, we recruited 17 science educators with different teaching expertise for a qualitative investigation into the noticing practices and support preferences of science teachers. Results revealed seven major categories and 36 minor categories of student activity that teachers typically observe, which enabled us to derive observation routines that can emulate quality teacher noticing for computer vision input. Our obtained list of observation categories represents a first-of-its-kind list which takes into account concrete noticing practices of science teachers and remains applicable across all types of practical tasks. From participants' ranking of computer vision models, we further understood the type of computer vision output that teachers prefer for instructional support. To our best of knowledge, no prior research has examined the connection between teacher noticing and computer vision in such detail. Using these findings, we can then pursue the development of computer vision for instructional support in science practical work in an informed manner, taking into account the realities of science laboratories and proclivities of science teachers.

摘要： The integration of artificial intelligence into microscopy systems significantly enhances performance, optimizing both image acquisition and analysis phases. Development of artificial intelligence-assisted super-resolution microscopy is often limited by access to large biological datasets, as well as by difficulties to benchmark and compare approaches on heterogeneous samples. We demonstrate the benefits of a realistic stimulated emission depletion microscopy simulation platform, pySTED, for the development and deployment of artificial intelligence strategies for super-resolution microscopy. pySTED integrates theoretically and empirically validated models for photobleaching and point spread function generation in stimulated emission depletion microscopy, as well as simulating realistic point-scanning dynamics and using a deep learning model to replicate the underlying structures of real images. This simulation environment can be used for data augmentation to train deep neural networks, for the development of online optimization strategies and to train reinforcement learning models. Using pySTED as a training environment allows the reinforcement learning models to bridge the gap between simulation and reality, as showcased by its successful deployment on a real microscope system without fine tuning. Stimulated emission depletion microscopy is a super-resolution imaging technique that utilizes point scanning in fluorescence microscopy. pySTED is developed to aid in the development and benchmarking of optical microscopy experiments, testing it in both synthetic and real settings.

摘要： The recent complexity of the university system, with diverse academic trajectories and varying socio-demographic characteristics of students, has led to increased access for historically underrepresented students. This has resulted in a rising number of adult learners, students with external responsibilities and individuals returning to education. However, despite this enhanced access, it remains unclear whether it has improved graduation. This uncertainty stems from the fact that students' social circumstances and external responsibilities differ significantly based on when they enter university. From a life course perspective, the aim of this paper is to explore the interactive effects of age at university entrance and employment status on the probability of graduating of an entire cohort of new students who entered the Catalan Higher Education System in 2012 (N = 29,463). The results show an interaction effect between age and employment status on the probability of graduation where working decreases the probability of graduation among students younger than 42 years old. Conversely, the negative impact of employment on university graduation diminishes among students entering university at an older age. This underscores the importance of adopting a life course perspective to comprehend students' educational experiences and outcomes within higher education.

摘要： In this qualitative study, preservice early childhood education teachers created block-based code to control robots and used the robots in field experience at local preschools. The study is grounded in a conceptual framework that weaves together playful programing and resilience, interlocking concepts that can explain sustained engagement during times of challenge. We investigated how and why preservice early childhood teachers exhibit resilience during collaborative programing. We analyzed their debugging processes, reflections, and interviews using a phenomenological lens. We conducted open and axial coding and analysis of discourse and actions during debugging episodes. Results suggest that teachers exhibited resilience due to the following three reasons: through playful coding, preservice early childhood teachers (a) learned that computer science is approachable and fun, (b) engaged in adaptive attribution, and (c) engaged in joint celebration when they observed each other's successes during collaborative tinkering. These findings provide potential insights for teacher learning of computing but also for novices learning to program.
