摘要： Generation Z members use their smart devices as part of their everyday routine. Teaching methods may need to be updated to make learning materials more interesting for this generation. This paper suggests gamifying computer science subjects to enhance the learning experience for this generation. Additionally, many students face difficulty in understanding computer science materials and algorithms. Gamifying computer science education is one of the suggested teaching methods to simplify topics and increase students' engagement. Moreover, the field of computer science is dominated by males. The use of gamification could increase women's interest in this field. This paper demonstrates different techniques that were developed by the researchers to employ gamification in teaching computer science topics. The data was collected at the end of the two different courses. Results show that students enjoyed the suggested teaching method and found it useful. This paper also demonstrates two tools and their gamification elements. These tools were developed by the researchers to help people learn computer programming and information security.

摘要： In order to improve the quality and quantity of the performance in computing in Nigeria Universities, there is need for a functioning research networking application through which they can exchange ideas. This is because academics tend to be more comfortable communicating with each other, asking questions and more importantly, such networking will provide mentorship in the Nigeria academic community. In order to make for this, several recommendations have been suggested but not scientific. Therefore to bridge this gap, this paper examines the properties of co-authorship network in Covenant University, Computer Science department. Properties of network such as centrality measures, network coefficient and so on are discovered. A collaboration recommendation application is then developed using the link prediction based on the Adamic-Adar Index measure. In conclusion, the result gotten from the network analysis is a valuable source of information for accessing the different centrality values of researchers in computer science. It also formed the foundation for developing an academic collaboration recommendation system for a small world research network. This will therefore improve the quantity and quality of performance of computer science academics in Nigeria.

摘要： This paper describes a software implementation of a fast distributed scatterer search algorithm for the problem of displacement velocity calculation based on the Apache Spark platform. A complete scheme for calculating displacement velocities by the persistent scatterer method is considered. The proposed algorithm is integrated into the scheme after the stage of subpixel-accuracy alignment of a stack of time-series images. The search for distributed scatterers is carried out independently in shift windows over the entire area of the image. The presence of distributed scatterers is determined based on the assumption that pairs of samples in the window, which are composed of vectors of complex pixel values in each of the N images, are homogeneous. This assumption stems from the fulfillment of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov criterion for each pair. Toestimate phases of homeogenic pixels, the maximization problem is solved. It is shown that the proposed algorithm is not iterative and can be implemented in the framework of the parallel computing paradigm. Toenable distributed in-memory processing of radar data arrays (from 60 images) across many physical nodes in a network environment, we use the Apache Spark parallel processing platform. In this case, the time it takes to find distributed scatterers is reduced by a factor of 10 on average as compared to a single-processor implementation of the algorithm. The comparative results of testing the computing system on a demo cluster are presented. The algorithm is implemented in Python with a detailed description of the objects and methods of the algorithm.

摘要： The modern display of a civil aircraft cockpit is based on a new interface ideology-it helps improve the perception of flight data received from a number of sources by showing it on a single multifunctional display. Implementation issues of multiwindow rendering on the pilot's display using OpenGL SC with hardware acceleration are discussed. An algorithm for arranging information on the display is proposed that makes it possible to use only one GPU available on board. An approach for adapting and modifying the open source Mesa package to obtain a certifiable GPU driver is described in detail. Special attention is paid to the technology of adapting the open source package code to a real-time operating system and to safety critical requirements. The implementation of the proposed approach is intended for the work under the real-time operating system JetOS in visualization systems of on-board civil aviation software. This implementation of multiwindow rendering assumes its further certification for safety critical systems.

摘要： Young people are increasingly referred to as the ‘lost generation’ because a series of worldwide crises has meant they are at a greater risk of marginalisation from the labour market. However, these risks of marginalisation have been felt more disproportionately by racially minoritised young people. This article challenges the dominant thinking and practice in youth employment policy and service delivery by examining how the entanglement between race and opportunity structures constrains racially minoritised young people’s transition to employment. It argues that race structures disadvantage racially minoritised young people in the labour market, focusing primarily on employers’ recruitment practices. This article pays particular attention to the role of employees in employment support services in dismantling race structures. Using qualitative data from a research project in the UK, this article concludes that employer engagement is a channel through which employees within employment support services can dismantle race structures. Through relationships with employers, employees within employment support services can mitigate risks of marginalisation for racially minoritised young people. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

摘要： Work on VR and AR task interaction and visualization paradigms has typically focused on providing information about the current step (a cue) immediately before or during its performance. Some research has also shown benefits to simultaneously providing information about the next step (a precue). We explore whether it would be possible to improve efficiency by precueing information about multiple upcoming steps before completing the current step. To accomplish this, we developed a remote VR user study comparing task completion time and subjective metrics for different levels and styles of precueing in a path-following task. Our visualizations vary the precueing level (number of steps precued in advance) and style (whether the path to a target is communicated through a line to the target, and whether the place of a target is communicated through graphics at the target). Participants in our study performed best when given two to three precues for visualizations using lines to show the path to targets. However, performance degraded when four precues were used. On the other hand, participants performed best with only one precue for visualizations without lines, showing only the places of targets, and performance degraded when a second precue was given. In addition, participants performed better using visualizations with lines than ones without lines.

摘要： The symbolic powers, in general, are not equal to the ordinary powers. Therefore, one interesting question here is for what classes of ideals ordinary and symbolic powers coincide? The answer to this question for square-free monomial ideals may be packing property. In this paper, we classify all cubic path ideals for those the symbolic and ordinary powers coincide.

摘要： Determining the correct number of clusters is essential for efficient clustering and cluster validity indices are widely used for the same. Generally, the effectiveness of a cluster validity index relies on two factors: first, separation, defined by the distance between a pair of cluster centroids or a pair of data points belonging to different clusters and second, compactness, which is determined in terms of the distance between a data point and a centroid or between a pair of data points belonging to the same cluster. However, the existing cluster validity indices for centroid-based clustering are unreliable when the clusters are too close, but corresponding centroids are distant. To mitigate this, a new cluster validity index, Saraswat-and-Mittal index, has been proposed in this article for hyperellipsoid or hyperspherical shape close clusters with distant centroids, generated by fuzzy c-means. The proposed index computes compactness in terms of the distance between data points and corresponding centroids, whereas the distance between data points of disjoint clusters defines separation. These parameters benefit the proposed index in the analysis of close clusters with distinct centroids efficiently. The performance of the proposed index is validated against ten state-of-the-art cluster validity indices on artificial, UCI, and image datasets, clustered by the fuzzy c-means.
