摘要： Graph Cities are the 3-D visual representations of partitions of a graph edge set into maximal connected subgraphs, each of which is called a fixed point of degree peeling. Each such connected subgraph is visually represented as a Building. A polylog bucketization of the size distribution of the subgraphs represented by the buildings generates a 2-D position for each bucket. The Delaunay triangulation of the bucket building locations determines the street network. We illustrate Graph Cities for the Friendster social network (1.8 billion edges), a co-occurrence keywords network derived from the Internet Movie Database (115 million edges), and a patent citation network (16.5 million edges). Up to 2 billion edges, all the elements of their corresponding Graph Cities are built in a few minutes (excluding I/O time). Our ultimate goal is to provide tools to build humanly interpretable descriptions of any graph, without being constrained by the graph size.

摘要： We report a new learning approach in science and technology through the Qui-Bot H2O project: a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary project developed with the main objective of inclusively increasing interest in computer science engineering among children and young people, breaking stereotypes and invisible social and gender barriers. The project highlights the social aspect of robotics applied to chemistry, at early ages. We successfully tested the project activities on girls between 3 to 13 years old. After taking part in the project, the users rated their interest in science and technology to be higher than before. Data collected during experiences included background information on students, measurements of the project's impact and students' interest in it, and an evaluation of student satisfaction of this STEM activity. The Qui-Bot H2O project is supported by the actions of territorial public administrations towards gender equality and the contributions of humanistic and technological universities and entities which specialize in education and business.

摘要： Learning to code is far from an easy task, it is a promising approach that underscores the use of the video game culture of students to motivate them to invest their time in the practice of programming. The students in this discipline are often discouraged by the amount of information to remember and the complex and constraining syntaxes. Moreover, the computer environment they use daily has little relation to that proposed for learning programming and they do not immediately perceive the links between the two universes. In this article we have proposed a tool which aims to help learners in the one of the different programming language;it's a learning game called Java shooter to promote learning java programming with high motivation rate. This game will allow learners to understand the lessons learned with a kind of interesting motivation. The development of this game idea is carried out using the IMIE model for the creation of learning games, this model is characterized by its clarity, and simplicity of adaptation which give the hand to the teacher to integrate himself in the process of creation in most of the stages of learning, in order to ensure a better pedagogical playful adaptation, whose goal is to integrate this new technology into the education system. Overall, the teachers greatly appreciated the design of the "Java Shooter" which is based on the chosen model in several steps. Analysis of the empirical results shows that most learners have accepted this tool to strengthen the classical teaching materials of Java programming.

摘要： Objective To evaluate the effects of intervention by "whole seamless connection of nursing from WeChat interactive platform" on stigma and quality of life of the patients with urinary system cancer. Methods Overall, 80 patients with urinary cancer were randomly divided (40 cases per group) into control and observation groups. Routine nursing was provided to the control group, whereas positive psychological intervention was provided to the intervention group through a "whole seamless connection of nursing from the WeChat interactive platform" in addition to routine nursing. The Chinese version of social impact and cancer patients' quality of life scales were used to evaluate the effects before and after the intervention. Results After the intervention, the total score for stigma was significantly lower (p < 0.01), while that of quality of life was higher (p < 0.05) in the observation group relative to the control group. Conclusions The whole seamless connection of nursing from the WeChat interactive platform could reduce stigma and improve the quality of life of patients with urinary cancer.

摘要： Due to the inconsistent distributions and representations of different modalities (e.g., images and texts), it is very challenging to correlate such heterogeneous data. A standard solution is to construct one common subspace, where the common representations of different modalities are generated to bridge the heterogeneity gap. Existing methods based on common representation learning mostly adopt a less effective two-stage paradigm: first, generating separate representations for each modality by exploiting the modality-specific properties as the complementary information, and then capturing the cross-modal correlation in the separate representations for common representation learning. Moreover, these methods usually neglect that there may exist interference in the modality-specific properties, that is, the unrelated objects and background regions in images or the noisy words and incorrect sentences in the text. In this article, we hypothesize that explicitly modeling the interference within each modality can improve the quality of common representation learning. To this end, we propose a novel model private-shared subspaces separation (P3S) to explicitly learn different representations that are partitioned into two kinds of subspaces: 1) the common representations that capture the cross-modal correlation in a shared subspace and 2) the private representations that model the interference within each modality in two private subspaces. By employing the orthogonality constraints between the shared subspace and the private subspaces during the one-stage joint learning procedure, our model is able to learn more effective common representations for different modalities in the shared subspace by fully excluding the interference within each modality. Extensive experiments conducted on cross-modal retrieval verify the advantages of our P3S method compared with 15 state-of-the-art methods on four widely used cross-modal datasets.

摘要： The Industrial Internet-of-Things (IIoT) promises significant improvements for the manufacturing industry by facilitating the integration of manufacturing systems by Digital Twins. However, ecological and economic demands also require a cross-domain linkage of multiple scientific perspectives from material sciences, engineering, operations, business, and ergonomics, as optimization opportunities can be derived fromany of these perspectives. To extend the IIoT to a true Internet of Production, two concepts are required: first, a complex, interrelated network of Digital Shadows which combine domain-specific models with data-driven AI methods;and second, the integration of a large number of research labs, engineering, and production sites as a WorldWide Lab which offers controlled exchange of selected, innovation-relevant data even across company boundaries. In this article, we define the underlying Computer Science challenges implied by these novel concepts in four layers: Smart human interfaces provide access to information that has been generated by model-integrated AI. Given the large variety of manufacturing data, new data modeling techniques should enable efficient management of Digital Shadows, which is supported by an interconnected infrastructure. Based on a detailed analysis of these challenges, we derive a systematized research roadmap to make the vision of the Internet of Production a reality.

摘要： In response to the challenges presented by violence, war, and capital punishment, For the Life of the World: Toward a Social Ethos of the Orthodox Church argues that foundational liturgical, canonical, and spiritual resources invite the Church to manifest a foretaste of the fullness of God's peace amidst the brokenness of a world that remains tragically inclined toward taking the lives of those who bear the divine image and likeness. It also summons the Church to engage people and power structures toward the end of enacting practical reforms that ameliorate the underlying causes of violence, a task especially urgent in light of the powerful weapons and technologies employed by governments today. While reflecting distinctive Orthodox sensibilities on the topics it addresses, the document also presents points of commonality with other Christian traditions of theological and moral reflection, especially concerning the obligation to take realistic initiatives in peacemaking.

摘要： The need to expand computer science learning for all students has led to an increase in professional development (PD) opportunities for teachers. The Covid-19 pandemic, however, necessitated changes in well-established PD programs and a shift to virtual delivery. In this work, we describe our transition to a virtual PD institute, including the topics and design principles guiding the institute. We also examine how participation in the virtual PD institute influenced teacher outcomes. Data were collected from two cohorts of teachers. Data sources included surveys (N=30), lesson plans (N=22), and interviews (N=17) from a purposeful sample of participants. Findings gleaned from quantitative and qualitative analysis suggest an increase in teachers' knowledge and self-efficacy while highlighting the affordances of virtual PD most valued by teachers. Findings have implications for research and practice.

摘要： Background: There has been a dearth of research on intersectional identities in STEM, including the fields of computing and engineering. In computing education research, much work has been done on broadening participation, but there has been little investigation into how the field of computer science (CS) presents opportunities for students with strong intersectional identities. This study explores the strengths and connections among the unique identities and the symbiotic relationships that elementary Latina students hold in CS identity attainment. Purpose: The aim of this article is to better understand how predominantly low-income, multilingual Latina students experience identity development through the lens of diverse group membership. We examine how young Latinas, through their participation in a yearlong culturally and linguistically responsive CS curriculum, leverage their intersecting identities to rewrite the formula of what a computer scientist is and can be, leaving space to include and invite other strong identities as well. Research Design: An explanatory sequential mixed-methods design was used that analyzed data from predominantly low-income, multilingual Latinas in upper elementary grades, including pre- and post-CS identity surveys (N = 50) delivered before and after implementation of the curriculum, and eight individual semi-structured student interviews. Findings: We found that Latina students developed significantly stronger identification with the field of CS from the beginning to the end of the school year with regard to their experiences with CS, perception of themselves as computer scientists, family support for CS and school, and friend support for CS and school. Interviews revealed that perception of their CS ability greatly influenced identification with CS and that girls' self-perceptions stemmed from their school, cultural, and home learning environments.
