摘要： This paper introduces Hypersequent GV (HGV), a modular and extensible core calculus for functional programming with session types that enjoys deadlock freedom, confluence, and strong normalisation. HGV exploits hyper-environments, which are collections of type environments, to ensure that structural congruence is type preserving. As a consequence we obtain an operational correspondence between HGV and HCP-a process calculus based on hypersequents and in a propositions-as-types correspondence with classical linear logic (CLL). Our translations from HGV to HCP and vice-versa both preserve and reflect reduction. HGV scales smoothly to support Girard's Mix rule, a crucial ingredient for channel forwarding and exceptions.

摘要： Cyber security is one of the most critical problems faced by enterprises, government organizations, education institutes, small and medium scale businesses, and medical institutions today. Creating a cyber security posture through proper cyber security architecture, deployment of cyber defense tools, and building a security operation center are critical for all such organizations given the preponderance of cyber threats. However, cyber defense tools are expensive, and many small and medium-scale business houses cannot procure these tools within their budgets. Even those business houses that manage to procure them cannot use them effectively because of the lack of human resources and the knowledge of the standard enterprise security architecture. In 2020, the C3i Center at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur developed a professional certification course where IT professionals from various organizations go through rigorous six-month long training in cyber defense. During their training, groups within the cohort collaborate on team projects to develop cybersecurity solutions for problems such as malware analysis, threat intelligence collection, endpoint detection and protection, network intrusion detection, developing security incidents, event management systems, etc. All these projects leverage open-source tools, and code from various sources, and hence can be also constructed by others if the recipe to construct such tools is known. It is therefore beneficial if we put these recipes out in the form of book chapters such that small and medium scale businesses can create these tools based on open-source components, easily following the content of the chapters. In 2021, we published the first volume of this series based on the projects done by cohort 1 of the course. 摘要： As science becomes increasingly computationally intensive, the need for computational thinking (CT) and computer science (CS) practices in K-12 science education is becoming paramount. Incorporation of CT/CS practices in K-12 education can be seen in national standards and a variety of allied initiatives. One way to build capacity around an emerging educational practice is for a team of researchers to partner with a local school or district in a ResearchPractice Partnership (RPP). Over the past four years, our team has worked with a local middle school via a RPP to help support a school-wide STEM ecosystem that aimed to integrate computational thinking concepts throughout all elements of the school day (core curricula, electives, after school activities, etc.). Throughout this partnership, we have worked closely with science teachers to develop and implement computational modeling units that aim to develop both computational thinking skills and scientific knowledge. This research considers the farreaching impacts of this RPP by examining science teachers’ infusion of CT/CS into their science curricula, the development of a scientific computational modeling unit, and students’ understanding of both metamodeling and scientific concepts after participating in the implementation of the computational modeling unit. The first paper in this dissertation is written for a practitioner journal. It discusses how the COVID-19 pandemic led to the rapid revision of a previously utilized disease transmission modeling unit in order to reflect the current scientific consensus regarding the behavior of the coronavirus. The paper details what a middle school science computational modeling unit about COVID-19 using the Use-Modify-Create (UMC) instructional strategy looks like in the classroom, and how the pandemic may have impacted student understanding of disease transmission through the use of computational modeling. 摘要： We are in the era of large-scale science. In oncology there is a huge number of data sets grouping information on cancer genomes, transcriptomes, clinical data, and more. 摘要： Previous Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) implementations in various industries imply that numerous RFID adoption design consists of unnecessary configuration modifications. Most environments that adopt RFID technology to track assets do not synchronize RFID virtual environments. Especially regarding underlying antenna locationing and Received Signal Strength Indicators (RSSI) using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) to show real-time two- or three-dimensional visualization. In order to evaluate RFID infrastructure, including RFID antenna placement and RSSI footprint range, a CAD-based design science research (DSR) study was necessary. This study examined data indicating associative qualities between antenna position accuracy and the associated RFI and RSSI values in CAD, analysis, and investigation performed under experimental methods using DSR. The research intended to identify examples of literature organized according to the following criteria: antenna positioning RFID, RSSI, CAD synthesis, and summarization. Comparing kNN fingerprinting and Cartesian plane placement was the quantitative data analysis portion of the project. No P-value was required because the complete population data served as the sample. This method was adopted primarily because data collection and population distribution depended on a standard data-generating process. The study found that synchronizing a virtual environment and its RFID hardware did not result in statistically correct CAD antenna locationing and RSSI range. The alternative hypothesis confirmed prior research that RSSI fingerprinting was erroneous for RFID sensor indoor locationing.

摘要： INTRODUCTION: The cultivation of vocational literacy of higher vocational computer students is related to the employment prospects of graduates and has a significant impact on the computer talent market. The success or failure of curriculum reform will directly impact the effect of cultivating professionalism in higher vocational computer majors. OBJECTIVES: This paper introduces the source and function of the C4.5 model, establishes model evaluation indexes to assess the application effect of the C4.5 model;the number of iterations and prediction accuracy are important indexes of the model's functioning and puts forward five measures suggestions for the reform of vocational literacy course of higher METHODS: C4.5 model is applied to reform vocational literacy courses for higher vocational computer majors, and the effect of practical implementation is evaluated using a questionnaire. RESULTS: By applying the C4.5 model to reform the vocational literacy course for senior computer majors, the graduates' vocational literacy has been significantly improved. CONCLUSION: The research contributes to the realization of the goal of cultivating higher vocational computer talents and provides the market with computer talents with outstanding professionalism.

摘要： In this letter, we develop a data-driven approach for the safety verification of stochastic systems with unknown dynamics. First, we use a notion of barrier certificates in order to cast the safety verification as a robust convex program (RCP). Solving this optimization program is difficult because the model of the stochastic system, which is unknown, appears in one of the constraints. Therefore, we construct a scenario convex program (SCP) by collecting a number of samples from trajectories of the system. Then, we develop a repetition-based scenario framework to provide an out-of-sample performance guarantee for the constructed SCP. In particular, we iteratively solve an SCP for a given number of samples, and then check its feasibility using a certain number of new samples after substituting the optimal decision variables from solving the SCP. We continue the iterations until a desired violation error is achieved. Eventually, a safety condition is checked on top of the feasibility problem. If the safety condition is fulfilled, then we can provide a lower bound on the probability of safety satisfaction for the original stochastic system by leveraging the optimal solution of the successful iteration. We illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed results through a two-tank system case study, where the safety objective is to ensure that the water levels in both tanks are within some safe zones.

摘要： This book introduces the Internet of Things (IoT), which is the convergence of connecting people, things, data and processes; it is transforming our life, business and everything in between. By 2025, experts forecast that up to 75 billion devices will be connected to the Internet with only one third of them being computers, smartphones, smartwatches, and tablets. The remaining two thirds will be other “devices” – sensors, terminals, household appliances, thermostats, televisions, automobiles, production machinery, urban infrastructure and many other “things”, which traditionally have not been Internet enabled. This “Internet of Things” (IoT) represents a remarkable transformation of the way in which our world will soon interact. Much like the World Wide Web connected computers to networks, and the next evolution mobile devices connected people to the Internet and other people, IoT looks poised to interconnect devices, people, environments, virtual objects and machines in ways that only science fiction writers could have imagined.

摘要： This study looked at the influence of juror bias on receptivity to a defendant’s history of abuse, mental illness presented via expert witness testimony, and presence of guilt and remorse presented as mitigating evidence during the sentencing phase of a capital trial. A total of 118 participants, who met the requirements to sit on a capital offense jury in the United States courts system, partook in this study. Participants completed a death-qualifying questionnaire to ensure they met criteria for participation as a mock capital juror. For those that met inclusion criteria, the participants then completed a demographic’s questionnaire, a pre-trial juror attitudes questionnaire to examine bias, and read three vignettes. Participants were prompted to read each vignette as if they were a capital juror in the sentencing phase of a capital offense trial and decide on a life without the possibility of parole sentence or a death sentence. It was hypothesized that pre-trial pro-defense and pro-prosecution biases would be associated with receptivity to certain mitigating factors and, ultimately, influence sentencing outcomes. Chi-Square tests were utilized to examine any associations. Primary analyses demonstrated no significant association between pre-trial pro-prosecution or pro-defense biases and sentencing outcomes. However, exploratory analyses indicated significant associations between gender, income, level of education and sentencing decisions. This was most prominently seen in sentencing decisions on the first vignette, depicting expert psychological testimony as a mitigating factor. These findings suggest that expert psychological testimony is best received by a jury when physical, concrete evidence of a defendant’s mental illness or impairment is included in their testimony.
