摘要： The state-of-the-art approaches to targeted aspect-based sentiment analysis (TABSA) are mostly built on deep neural networks with attention mechanisms. One problem is that embeddings of targets and aspects are either pre-trained from large external corpora or randomly initialized. We argue that affective commonsense knowledge and words indicative of sentiment could be used to learn better target and aspect embeddings. We therefore propose an embedding refinement framework called RAEC (Refining Affective Embedding from Context), in which sentiment concepts extracted from affective commonsense knowledge and word relative location information are incorporated to derive context-affective embeddings. Furthermore, a sparse coefficient vector is exploited in refining the embeddings of targets and aspects separately. In this way, embeddings of targets and aspects can capture the highly relevant affective words. Experimental results on two benchmark datasets show that our framework can be easily integrated with existing embedding-based TABSA models and achieves state-of-the-art results compared to models relying on pre-trained word embeddings or built on other embedding refinement methods.

摘要： This article is dedicated to addressing the issue of using different methodologies for conducting group projects for computer science students. The research was conducted on two courses, "Algorithmization and Programming of Solutions" and "Development of Web-Applications for the Internet," at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology at Riga Technical University. Two methods of organizing group projects in the educational process were investigated: a group project where student participation is not mandatory, and a group project organized with preliminary student testing and mandatory participation. The paper describes both approaches, the stages of implementation, and the actions of pedagogues and students at each stage. A survey was conducted among students of the courses "Algorithmization and Programming of Solutions" and "Development of Web-Applications for the Internet," opinions of students were collected, and based on them, the pros and cons of group projects in education were identified. The authors of the article believe that teaching methods must include new components, such as offering students the opportunity to work in teams, forming groups using different methodologies, and thereby motivating students to increase their knowledge and professional qualifications, which is the main goal of SMART education.

摘要： Interpersonal touch is critical for social-emotional development and presents a powerful modality for communicating emotions. Virtual agents of the future could capitalize on touch to establish social bonds with humans and facilitate cooperation in virtual reality (VR). We studied whether the emotional expression of a virtual agent would affect the way humans touch the agent. Participants were asked to hold a pressure-sensing tube presented as the agent's arm in VR. Upon seeing the agent's emotional expression change, participants briefly squeezed the arm. The effect of emotional expressions on affective state was measured using self-reported valence and arousal as well as physiology-based indices. Onset, duration, and intensity of the squeeze were recorded to examine the haptic responses. Emotional expression of agents affected squeeze intensity and duration through changes in emotional perception and experience. Haptic responses may thus provide an implicit measure of persons' experience towards their virtual companion.

摘要： Some students’ expectations and points of view related to the Artificial Intelligence course are explored and analyzed in this study. We anonymous collected answers from 58 undergraduate students out of 200 enrolled in the Computer Science specialization. The answers were analysed and interpreted using thematic analysis to find out their interests and attractive and unattractive aspects related to the Artificial Intelligence study topic. We concluded that students are interested in Artificial Intelligence due to its trendiness, applicability, their passion and interest in the subject, the potential for future growth, and high salaries. However, the students’ expectations were mainly related to achieving medium knowledge in the Artificial Intelligence field, and men seem to be more interested in acquiring high-level skills than women. The most common part that wasn't enjoyed by the students was the mathematical aspect used in Artificial Intelligence. Some of them (a small group) were also aware of the Artificial Intelligence potential which could be used in an unethical manner for negative purposes. Our study also provides a short comparison to the Databases course, in which students were not that passionate or interested in achieving medium knowledge, their interest was related to DB usage and basic information.

摘要： Buses play a particularly crucial role in connecting rural regions with cities. The goal of the approach described in this paper is to combine the three research fields: Traffic simulation, Computer Vision and Traffic Psychology in order to pursue a holistic approach that promises dependable bus acceleration with high acceptance by road users. First simulation results estimate a reduction in bus travel time by up to 59 percent between two bus stops. Moreover, the detection of 78 percent of cars and 73 percent of buses in the early development phase shows that a detection, which fulfills the strict data protection standards by using thermal cameras, can be used to control the bus acceleration. In combination with our approach to empirically validate adaptive bus acceleration measures from a psychological perspective we propose a novel holistic method of science-based bus acceleration.

摘要： 毕业设计是实现专业培养目标、培养高素质工科人才的一个主要实践性教育环节。文章以工程教育专业认证为背景,通过深入分析计算机科学与技术专业毕业设计存在的问题,重新制定毕业设计课程目标;围绕各目标,以产出为导向,从日常教学与毕业设计有机结合、合理规划毕业设计进度、有效监督毕业设计工作以及改进毕业设计评价措施四个方面对毕业设计教学活动进行改革与探索。

摘要： Although Computer Science has grown to become one of the most highly demanded professional careers, every year, only a small percentage of students choose a degree directly related to Computer Science. Perhaps the problem lies in the lack of information that society has about Computer Science itself, and particularly about the work computer scientists do. No one doubts the role of Mathematics or Languages as core subjects in every primary and secondary education syllabus;however, Computer Science plays a negligible role in most current syllabuses. Only in a few countries have governments paid special attention to content related to Computer Science and to learning to analyze and solve problems the way computer scientists do (Computational Thinking). In this article, we present Piens@ Computacion@ULLmente, a project that provides a methodology to promote Computer Science through Computational Thinking activities among primary and secondary education students. The results obtained from an exhaustive statistical analysis of the data we collected demonstrate that the perception of Computer Science that pre-university students have can be improved through specific training. Moreover, we can also confirm that the performance of pre-university students involving Computational Thinking skills is independent of gender, particularly at the primary education level.
