This kind of technical manipulation is not only reflected in the personalized recommendations of e-commerce platforms, but also permeates the interaction mechanism of social media and user behavior itself, constantly consolidating the data hegemony of the platforms. When shopping decisions rely on the “best choice” predicted by algorithms and social identity depends on the accumulation of virtual consumption data, humans will gradually lose the ability to judge real needs. This consumerism empowered by technology is deconstructing the foundation of human subjectivity. A more concealed crisis lies in the fact that technological systems, in the name of optimizing user experience, transform critical thinking into computable variables. The cognitive process of an individual is constantly permeated and tamed by the pleasure model preset by technology. This deep binding has led consumerism to no longer remain at the material level, but has evolved into the domestication of thinking patterns. People are accustomed to viewing their self-worth through the logic of upgraded and iterative technology, equating life planning with data optimization engineering. The liberation promises claimed by technological utopians have, in practice, instead strengthened the comprehensive possession of life time by capital.
