摘要： Y. Liu et al. investigate the problem of the rollover hedge strategy for the long-term exposure of a well-diversified portfolio in "Hedging long-term exposures of a well-diversified portfolio with short-term stock index futures contracts." The paper entitled "Possibilistic fuzzy net present value model and application," by S. S. Appadoo, provides some moment properties with special type of fuzzy numbers, called ( m , n )-trapezoidal fuzzy number, and then proposes a fuzzy net present value model, which does not imply rejection of other discounted cash formulations but rather compliments existing fuzzy model formulation.

摘要： 偏最小二乘回归(partial least-squares regression,简写PLS)是一种新型的多元统计数据分析方法,它主要研究的是多因变量对多自变量的回归建模,特别当各变量内部存在多重相关性时,用偏最小二乘回归法更有效。另外,偏最小二乘回归较好地解决了样本个数少于变量个数等问题,因此统计学家们称偏最小二乘回归为第二代回归分析方法。 本文首先说明了回归建模中变量间存在多重相关性的危害,并给出了多重相关性的多种检验方法,这是进行偏最小二乘回归建模的前期工作。之后系统总结阐述了偏最小二乘回归方法的建模求解步骤和模型适应性的检验方法,它是多元回归分析、主成分分析、典型相关分析的综合应用,并在此基础上并提出了一种更简洁的成分提取偏最小二乘回归方法。通过分析证明了有关偏最小二乘回归的性质,说明了PLS方法能克服多重相关性的原因。对于偏最小二乘回归方法的系数解释,回归方程的系数不再是自变量对因变量的边际效应,因此不能用普通最小二乘回归的方法对其系数进行解释,而要从构建方程的贡献率角度考虑。之后本文运用matlab软件对算法进行了程序设计,给出了水资源承载力数学模型指标的通用计算程序,根据某流域的资料,建立了某流域水资源承载能力分析计算的数学模型。由此模型通过对此流域供水工程的供水能力和供需平衡、最优配置结果的数据分析,使用PLS过程计算得到了描述水资源承载能力的指标——流域内富余水量、流域水资源可承载人口、最优配置的总供水保证率的数学表达式,得到了回归模型并分析了模型计算的结果。

摘要： We present a numerical method for a class of boundary value problems on the unit interval which feature a type of powerlaw nonlinearity. In order to numerically solve this type of nonlinear boundary value problems, we construct a kind of spectral collocation method. The spatial approximation is based on shifted Jacobi polynomials J(n)((alpha,beta))(r) with alpha,beta epsilon (-1, infinity), r epsilon (0,1) and n the polynomial degree. The shifted Jacobi-Gauss points are used as collocation nodes for the spectral method. After deriving the method for a rather general class of equations, we apply it to several specific examples. One natural example is a nonlinear boundary value problem related to the Yamabe problem which arises in mathematical physics and geometry. A number of specific numerical experiments demonstrate the accuracy and the efficiency of the spectral method. We discuss the extension of the method to account for more complicated forms of nonlinearity.

摘要： Women with high breast density (BD) have a 4-to 6-fold greater risk for breast cancer than women with low BD. We found that BD can be easily computed from a mathematical algorithm using routine mammographic imaging data or by a curve-fitting algorithm using fat and nonfat suppression magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data. These BD measures in a strictly defined group of premenopausal women providing both mammographic and breast MRI images were predicted as well by the same set of strong predictor variables as were measures from a published laborious histogram segmentation method and a full field digital mammographic unit in multivariate regression models. We also found that the number of completed pregnancies, C-reactive protein, aspartate aminotransferase, and progesterone were more strongly associated with amounts of glandular tissue than adipose tissue, while fat body mass, alanine aminotransferase, and insulin like growth factor-II appear to be more associated with the amount of breast adipose tissue. Our results show that methods of breast imaging and modalities for estimating the amount of glandular tissue have no effects on the strength of these predictors of BD. Thus, the more convenient mathematical algorithm and the safer MRI protocols may facilitate prospective measurements of BD.
