摘要： Sewage specimens were collected weekly for a two year period (1969–1970) at the inlet of the three major sewage treatment plants of the Stockholm area and investigated for viral content. Virus was isolated from almost all samples, in one third of the specimens two or more types of entero- or reovirus were identified. Poliovirus was isolated on 11 different occasions. The significance of the findings and different methodological problems met with are discussed.

摘要： Poliovirus incubated at pH 11.0 and 37° C, rapidly loses 90% of its infectivity. This inactivation is accompanied by a fragmentation of the RNAin *** RNA extracted from the inactivated particles sediments as a single peak with a sedimentation coefficient of 11S. The average molecular weight is estimated as 2.5×105.

摘要： 本文报导应用麻疹减毒活疫苗治疗急、慢性肝炎260例,疗效较满意。74例小儿急性无黄疸型肝炎,全部临床治愈,近期治愈率100%。66例成人急性无黄疸型肝炎,近期治愈率为92.3%,有效率为96.8%。120例慢性肝炎,近期治愈率为62.5%,有效率为95%。治疗方法简单,应用肌肉或穴位注射。成人每周注射一次疫苗,儿童每周1～2次,采用逐渐增量法。

摘要： Poliovirus was inactivated by 7.2m urea at pH 7.0 and 37° C. The RNA was released intact. At temperatures not exceeding 40° C, the empty capsid underwent a further stepwise degradation, loosing VP-2 and VP-3 until a skeleton particle was left, consisting almost entirely of a mixture of VP-1 and *** component was disrupted with urea at high temperatures. At 62° C, VP-3a and VP-2 were gradually lost. Stable 50 S particles comprising all the VP-0 were formed; skeleton particles mainly composed of VP-1 and VP-3b were also formed, unless Mg++ was *** VP-1 band was resolved into two components. The structural role of the individual capsid polypeptides is discussed.

摘要： BSC-1 monkey kidney cells were enucleated by two cycles of centrifugation in the presence of cytochalasin B. The resulting populations contained 99.5 percent enucleated cells. After infection, newly synthesized poliovirus was recovered from the enucleated populations. Final virus yield per enucleated cell was about one-fifth the yield per infected untreated cell.

摘要： The effect of gamma globulin fractions of antisera against 150 S, 14 S and 5 S virus-specific structures of poliovirus on the synthesis of viralRNA in anin vitro system was studied. The antiserum against 14 S structures containing only capsid polypeptides was found to be capable of inhibiting viral RNA synthesis in thein vitro system used.

摘要： Poliovirus type 1 strains Mahoney and LSc, 2ab and type 3 strains 1658/63 and Leon 12 a1b grown in the presence of3H-labelled uridine were concentrated by ultracentrifugation and purified by sucrose density gradient centrifugation. The purity of these preparations was tested by cesium chloride density gradient centrifugation. The preparations showed the known strain-specific pattern of elution upon chromatography on aluminium hydroxide and therefore proved to be suitable as reference material for the chromatographic strain differentation. The stability of the preparations was controlled for more than one year. During this time no changes were found in respect to the chromatographic behaviour, the rct/40 character, or the serological marker.

摘要： Sera from 40 patients infected with poliovirus 1, 2 or 3 were surveyed for antibody activity against antigens of these viruses and echovirus 6 by immunodiffusion. Antibody activity common to the virion (N) antigens of two or three poliovirus types were encountered in a few sera; cross absorption tests confirmed the findings. The same sera also contained antibodies directed to one single type of N antigen, this was, however, not that of the infecting virus. Antibodies to echovirus 6 N was found only in one *** to empty capsid antigens (H) of polioviruses and echovirus 6 were demonstrable in the majority of sera; the occurrence of common antibodies to the H antigens of echovirus 6 and poliovirus H antigens was *** antibody patterns of different sera varied. Even early during the course of the disease heterologous anti H activity was associated with 7 S type antibodies, whereas the early homotypic anti N activity was present in the 19 S serum fraction. The data indicate that the heterologous antibody responses seem to represent booster responses from earlier experience with similar *** of the 19 S and 7 S type showed precipitating activity whereas CF activity was found with certainty only in the 7 S fractions of sera.
